Rainy day in Sussex Inlet? Don’t let a little bad weather put a dampener on your getaway.

One of the great things about staying in Sussex Inlet is that you don't have to spend the entire day outdoors to enjoy your time here.

When the weather turns, slow the pace down, explore somewhere new, enjoy a long lunch or simply make the most of your accommodation.

Here are some ideas for enjoying Sussex Inlet when the skies aren't quite cooperating.

☕ Start with a long breakfast

A rainy morning is a good excuse to take your time over breakfast.

Sussex Inlet has a range of cafés and bakeries where you can grab a coffee, something sweet or a proper breakfast before deciding what the rest of the day has in store.

The local tourism directory lists cafés, bakeries, takeaway options and restaurants throughout Sussex Inlet and the surrounding area.

There's no need to rush — sometimes a slow breakfast is exactly what a holiday needs.

🎬 Catch a movie at the Historic Inlet Cinema

If the weather isn't ideal for exploring outdoors, why not see what's showing at the Historic Inlet Cinema?

The cinema is one of the local indoor entertainment options listed by Sussex Inlet & Districts Tourism and is an easy way to fill a couple of hours when you're looking for something indoors.

Check what's showing before you head out, as movie times change.

🍺 Settle in for lunch at Swordfish Brewing

Rain doesn't mean you have to stay inside your accommodation all day.

Swordfish Brewing is right on the water and offers craft beer, local produce and a restaurant with both indoor and alfresco dining.

It's currently open Wednesday to Sunday, with lunch and dinner service.

On a rainy day, grab a table inside, order lunch and watch the weather roll through.

And if the rain clears while you're there, you can always head outside and enjoy the views.

🎳 Check out what's happening locally

Sussex Inlet has more going on than you might expect.

The local clubs regularly have entertainment, activities and events. Sussex Inlet Bowling Club, for example, has a calendar that includes trivia, bingo, live music, raffles and other activities.

It's worth checking the local What's On calendar before your stay, as events change throughout the year.

🏊 Make a splash

If you're travelling with children, or simply don't mind getting wet anyway, the Sussex Inlet Aquatic Centre is another option.

The centre has a 25-metre indoor pool as well as fitness facilities, and during school holidays it can also run inflatable obstacle-course sessions.

Just check the current opening hours before heading over, particularly around public holidays and school holidays.

🍕 Make the most of a night in

And sometimes the best rainy-day activity is doing absolutely nothing.

Pick up some takeaway, put your feet up and enjoy a quiet night in.

Both Sussex Gem and Sussex View are designed for couples, so there's no reason you need to be out exploring from morning until night.

Make a coffee, put on a movie, enjoy a glass of wine and let the rain do its thing.

After all, you're on holiday.

🌧️ A little rain isn't necessarily a bad thing

Some of the best holiday days aren't the ones where you follow a packed itinerary.

A rainy day gives you permission to slow down, linger over breakfast, discover a local café, have a long lunch or simply enjoy your accommodation.

So if the forecast isn't looking perfect for your Sussex Inlet stay, don't panic.

There are still plenty of ways to enjoy your time here.
